Setting holds, blanks and inbetweens

You can change the status of the selected keyframe(s) so that the frames following it are a blank, a hold, or inbetweens. (See Controlling columns in the XSheet).

To do so, click on the relevant button in the InBetweens section of the Timing Properties:

See also Retiming keyframes.

Setting the duration of a hold

By default, a hold lasts indefinitely, until the next keyframe. You can change the hold's duration by dragging the tip of its arrow in the XSheet; the new duration is then stored in the keyframe. Any frames between the end of the hold and the following keyframe are set to be blank.

Note the following:

If you later change the keyframe back to a hold, it will last indefinitely.

You can also set the end of a hold with a b-click (press and hold down the 'b' key, then click). The frame on which you click, and all ones up to the following keyframe, are set to be blank.

Setting the sample rate for inbetweens

You can change the sample rate at which inbetweens are calculated. Using this, you can match the timing of your inbetweens to the timing of your drawings. Click on the relevant button in the Samples section of the Timing Properties:
